Dr. Romero is a Board-Certified Family Medicine physician with over 30 years of clinical experience. Dr. Romero graduated medical school from the University of Rochester School of Medicine. She completed her family medicine training at the University of Rochester Highland Hospital Family Medicine Residency program. After her clinical training, Dr. Romero worked several years with the National Health Service Corps serving in several federally qualified community health centers. 

In 2006, she returned to California where she began a career with the State of California serving as a Chief Medical Officer with the Department of Corrections, Medical Consultant for Department of Justice and Department of Health Care Services, and as an Expert Reviewer for the Medical Board of California. Dr. Romero also worked for Executive Health Resources and United Health Group as a Physician Advisor assisting hospital clients with Medicare regulatory compliance. 

Dr. Romero currently serves a Medical Director for Magellan Health, overseeing the Physician Clinical Reviewer unit which consists of over 40 Board Certified Multi-Specialty physicians that perform utilization management reviews for commercial and governmental health plans nationwide. She is the owner and Chief Medical Officer of Spark Health Integrative Medicine which consists of physicians, naturopathic doctors and other health care providers who work together to create an unequalled clinic experience.

Dr. Romero completed a Masters of Jurisprudence in Health Law at Loyola University Chicago School of Law with specialized training in health care compliance and will be completing her MBA in May of 2022 at the University of Notre Dame Mendoza School of Business. She is married, has 2 sons, and a 7-pound Yorkie. When not enjoying time and traveling with her family, she enjoys hiking, tennis, and photography.
